Sọma is a creative polymath who collaborates with artists and creative teams aiming to shift cultural conversations.

Sitting at the intersections of digital media, entertainment, art, and culture Soma is always exploring social-cultural identity as rooted both through and beyond her own lived experiences. Her projects often center Blackness, Queerness, and the Global African Diaspora in visioning paths to joy and collective liberation.

As a creative strategist, she supports organizations and individuals in being bold and authentic, challenging them to deepen their commitment to positively impacting the communities they represent.

Her approach has earned her key roles on several influential teams. As a member of HBO Max’s Multicultural Marketing team, she and her team were honored with a Webby Award for their contributions to Human By Orientation, HBO’s platform dedicated to centering the LGBTQIA+ community. More recently, she has led social and digital at the Tony Award-winning Broadway Advocacy Coalition, an arts-based advocacy organization committed to using arts and storytelling to change systems and policies. 

Always allowing herself to be expressed through multiple creative disciplines, Soma can often be found near a stage or screen. Her short film, FEED ME, earned critical acclaim at aGLIFF Film Festival and Outfest for its poetic exploration of pleasure, sexuality, and communal dreaming. Most recently, she graced the Metropolitan Opera stage as part of the cast of Anthony Davis’s groundbreaking opera X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X, directed by Robert O’Hara.
